Memorial Weekend and then some...

Saturday afternoon we drove out near Woody Mountain Rd and camped with my sister’s family and some of their friends. We had tin foil dinners that night (one of my favorite things about camping), lots of junk food, then made s’mores later that night.

It was a tough decision to go camping because we knew the suns game would be on. Luckily some people that were camping with us had a fifth wheel trailer and a projector so we could watch the game while we camped… (Then they ended up losing)

Sunday we had an early ‘birthday party’ for this good lookin’ guy! As you can see he was pretty excited to wear the PARTY hat! :)

Okay, so it wasn’t exactly a birthday party, it was more of a lazy sunday BUT we did make him wear the party hat and we sang to him with a plate full of snickers brownies.

Jon’s 29th birthday isn't until this Thursday (June 3rd), since we will be on our cruise then my family wanted to celebrate this weekend.

Can’t have a birthday without a puffy cheek picture :)

Monday morning (Memorial Day) We hiked up “Fat Man’s Loop”. We hiked it a few weeks ago and loved it. The beginning part we hiked/ran, once we got to the haflway point we ran the rest of the way down. This was definitely a good workout- Our new goal is to eventually run the entire thing…. Someday

When we got home from our hike the family came over and we set up volleyball and badminton in our yard. Lins and Rich were the Valleyball champs!

Before it got dark we went hiking again, this time with the family. We tried out “Geo Catching” and it ended up being pretty fun. All of the places were on the hiking trail behind our house- Who knew Flagstaff could be so cool? Do YOU know what Geo Catching is? I didn't know either until this weekend.

We ended our fun holiday weekend hanging out in the backyard by the fire and making home made ice cream. It’s so nice to finally be able to do things outside, hopefully the warm weather is here to stay!

geo caching is fun! have you looked up letter boxing? it can be harder/easier depending on who set it up. it started obviously before the common gps technology. i love camping!
