"LUCKY DAY"
Remember those very few lucky days when you reached into your pocket and found a dollar or two? Or when you were walking down the street and found a quarter or even a dime? Today was one of those days for me but a thousand times better… Literally
As you can tell I am not much of a blogger. I hate writing about myself and the lack of excitement that goes on in my life. I’m not married, don’t have a boyfriend, and have very few friends that live in Flagstaff so needless to say I don’t have much to “blog” about. Another one of my goals this year was to write on my blog as often as I could so that I could remember events in my life and not worry about the stuff I write on here just because everyone else can read it.
I am happy to say that I actually did have something exciting happen today that was WELL worth writing about… And here is how it went…
Because of my constant changing work schedule I haven’t been able to go to church for the last few weeks. Today I was finally able to go so I ended up waking up earlier than usual to get my tithing caught up and ready to take to church. I had set aside my last few months of tithing for today when I was able to go. This morning when I went to get the envelope from under my dresser I couldn’t find it. So I knelt down and looked underneath to see if it had been pushed back. When I looked under I found an envelope towards the very back end near the wall. I lifted up the dresser and looked inside the envelope and found some cash. Not surprised by this I figured it was just my tithing; I kept looking and found a few pieces of paper in it that looked like one of my check stubs. After pulling everything out I realized this was NOT my tithing but a paycheck I had cashed in 2007 that somehow went missing for TWO YEARS! I counted all the bills and had $1,047!!!! Yes you read that right I found ONE THOUSAND EXTRA DOLLARS! How I never realized I was missing a thousand dollars to pay bills with two years ago I haven’t quite figured out.
Some might say this was my “Lucky Day” or that it was a Blessing for paying my tithing. I’ve heard stories about people paying their tithing and then receiving amazing blessings in return and I know I have had those same blessings happen to me many times and I wish I would have written them down somewhere to look back and remember them. At least now I can remember this and remind myself that I will be blessed when I pay my tithing. =)
